Ghost in the Shell: Image Without Meaning

This is something that I’ve been writing (or mostly not, technically) over the course of months. I thought that now would be a good time to publish it at least, with the actual film coming out in a few days. I’m not sure if it’s good yet. It could be, I guess, and the best possible outcome is everyone enjoying a great film while I sit back and wash down my words with some popcorn. “Whose Side Are You On?” (Captain America: Civil War)

I remember when I heard that Captain America 3 was going to be an adaption of the Civil War storyline, I immediately rushed out and got a copy of the comic book from my local library. I loved it. It was fantastically written, interesting, and seriously morally ambiguous. The whole story was constructed to steer you through the different sides, but there was never a right decision. “Real Maturity, Mostly” (Daredevil: Season 2)

Last year, Marvel Comic’s deal with Netflix yielded one of the best comic book adaptions in years, Daredevil, a thirteen episode series about the origins and life of the Marvel comics character Daredevil (go figure).
