“Infested With Fun… And Raccoons.” (Parks and Recreation: Season 1)

It's a Trap!
It’s not. This show is amazing.

I’ve been watching reruns of this amazing show on live TV for a while now. However, they only play the same 10 or so episodes. So, finding the entirety (and by entirety, I mean first 4 seasons) of Parks and Recreation on Netflix, I decided to watch the entire show.

Leslie Knope is the head of the Pawnee Parks and Recreation department. Being excited and optimistic about government in general and the trash heap that is Pawnee, all she wants to do is build a park in the abandoned pit next to Anne Perkins’ house. Easier said than done, she finds out, as Leslie navigates her way through sexist office politics, slightly terrifying public forums, seedy nightclubs, and illegal dog food fights.

This show might just give Falling Skies a run for it’s money as Parks and Rec is quickly becoming my new favorite show on TV. It’s funny, has great characters, and deals with real issues in it’s own subtle way. Plus, the first season is only 6 episodes, so you can totally watch it in under 3 hours. 9 out of 10.

Hilarious, insightful, and interesting, Parks and Recreation offers infectious laughter and fun, while at the same time doling out insightful social commentary in it’s own droll and subtle way.
