Sherlock is back! He’s back! and he’s alive! I’m a bit late to this party, because 1) I’m watching it in the US, and 2) I went to an actual party on Sunday the 19th, the night of the US premiere. So, I had to wait for today to watch Sherlock. I was not disappointed.
After Sherlock’s untimely demise two years ago, Watson has gotten a girlfriend, a new home, and a mustache. But all of that is turned upside down when Sherlock reappears, sporting a bow tie, glasses, and alcoholic drinks. Watson is angry, and hurts Sherlock in increasingly violent ways as John, Mary, (John’s new girlfriend), and Sherlock are forced to discuss his death in increasingly smaller and seedier restaurants. Of course, John and Sherlock must team up once again, to stop a terrorist bombing plot from destroying the British Parliament.
I really enjoyed The Empty Hearse, and it had a pretty cool opening scene, even if it’s most likely not how Sherlock survived. I was kind of hoping that the whole terrorist plot was going to be spread out, across the three episodes, although it seems that the bombing was pretty much stopped. But the real question on everyone’s mind has yet to be solved. How did Sherlock live? 8 out of 10.
