Frank Compton is an ex-government intelligence agent who just wants a nice and quiet day. Unfortunately all of that changes when a messenger from a strange source comes to him for help. seconds later, the messenger dies of multiple military-issue kill-rounds in his back. all that he leaves is a one way ticket on the quadrail, a futuristic and intergalactic train system. once on the quadrail, he is ordered to see the reclusive beings behind the quadrail technology, the chawyn. the chawyn think that someone is trying to smuggle weapons through the quadrail. But Compton suspects that the chawyn aren’t telling him everything, and his new partner, Bayta, isn’t being much help in the information department either. Who is this sinister enemy? And why does nothing but the universe satisfy it?
I love this book. And I was completely obsessed with the Quadrail series when I first started Night Train To Rigel. I originally picked it up when I was looking around Timothy Zahn’s books in the library because I had just finished the Thrawn Trilogy. I was very lucky that day.
