The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is the story of an Earth-man named Arthur Dent. He has a very interesting morning involving lying in front of a bulldozer to prevent the demolition of his house to build a bypass. Then, after a visit from his long-time friend, Ford Prefect, he escapes onto one of the ships in a Vogon destructor fleet just before the Earth’s destruction. After being read the third worst poetry in the galaxy, and after being thrown out of an airlock, they arrive on the starship Heart Of Gold, and join Ford’s semi-half brother and current President of the galaxy, Zaphod Beeblebrox, (he shares three of the same mothers as Ford) on his quest to find the lost planet of Magrathea.
The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. and in addition to being the first sentence of chapter 8 of The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, it is completely true! and I know that I am throwing this out a lot lately, but this is one of the best books that I have ever read.
Worst – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 – 7 – 8 – 9 – Best
I would rate The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy 10 out of 10, and would recommend it to fans of science fiction, and comedy. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is also a trilogy of six books. (No, that is not a typo, The Hitchhikers Trilogy has six installments). There is a movie for the The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy, but there are no more movies in the trilogy.
